MEXICAN MEAT AND POTATOES

MEXICAN MEAT AND POTATOES


3 lbs. round steak, diced
2 Tbsp. shortening
2 lbs. potatoes, diced
8-oz. tomato sauce
1-1/2 tsp. salt
½ tsp. pepper
½ tsp. cumin
1 clove garlic, crushed
1 cup water


In a heavy kettle, brown diced round steak in shortening. Add peeled, diced potatoes, tomato sauce, salt, pepper, cumin, and crushed garlic. Add water and simmer until the meat and potatoes are tender, about 30 minutes.


Yield: 4 servings.
