SLOW COOKER SWEET and SOUR KIELBASA

SLOW COOKER SWEET and SOUR KIELBASA
"Kielbasa is slowly simmered with a sauce that’s not
to sweet, not too sour"

¾ cup and 1 Tbsp. and 1 tsp. butter
4-1/2 large onions, sliced
2-1/4 cups packed brown sugar
1-1/8 (28-oz,) bottle ketchup
1/3 cup and 1 Tbsp. and 1 tsp. cider vinegar
1 Tbsp. and 1 tsp. spicy brown mustard
2 Tbsp. and ¾ tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 Tbsp. and 1-1/2 tsp. hot pepper sauce
2-1/4 lbs. kielbasa sausage cut into 1-in. pieces

Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Sauté onions until tender. Stir in brown sugar, ketchup, vinegar, mustard, Worcestershire sauce and pepper sauce. Simmer, stirring occasionally, for 20 minutes.

lace sausage in a slow cooker with the sauce and onions. Cook on LOW for 4-5 hours. The longer it simmers the better.

Yield: 18 servings.
