SLOW-COOKER KIELBASA AND KRAUT

SLOW-COOKER KIELBASA AND KRAUT
The alcohol cooks out of the beer, so it’s safe to serve this to children

1 (24-oz) can sauerkraut
1 (8-oz) jar applesauce
2 lbs. kielbasa, cut into serving-size pieces
1 (12-oz) can or bottle beer

Combine the sauerkraut and applesauce in a slow cooker. Arrange the kielbasa on top. Pour the beer over all. Cook on LOW for 7-8 hours or on HIGH for 4-5 hours. Serve as a main dish with mashed potatoes or as a sandwich on hard rolls.

Yield: 8 to 12 servings.
